Enough bad jokes. I’m noting the two events mainly because I saw them in the same blog entry, from Erica M of Twin Cities MetroBlogging and felt it appropriate. The more important of the two is the Twin Cities Tibetan Film Festival, which is being held this weekend at the Riverside Theatre at 3800 42nd Avenue South, Minneapolis. Running from May 10 through May 13, the festival features 10 works explore Tibet’s timeless spiritual and cultural traditions and its troubled political history.
Opening night will feature explorer Ann Bancroft as guest speaker, who will introduce the film Daughters of Everest and talk about her personal interest in Tibetan culture. A reception will be held at the Riverview Theater immediately following the screening, with free wine and food provided by Everest on Grand and Khyber Pass Café.
