St. Paul’s own Red House Records will honor its late president with “A Tribute to Bob Feldman: Celebrating a Life in Music” Sept. 9 at the Fitzgerald Theater.
The concert will feature a slate of artists from the folk/roots label including Greg Brown, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, Peter Ostroushko, Robin and Linda Willliams, Dave Moore, Claudia Schmidt, Tony Glover and Dean Magraw.
A St. Paul native who grew up in Jacksonville, Fla., Feldman took over Red House from Iowa singer/songwriter Greg Brown, who had founded it in 1980 as a one-man operation to distribute his own material. Under Feldman’s watch, Red House grew into a highly respected label with an international following and gross sales nearing $3 million in 2005.
After battling several illnesses, Bob Feldman died in his home on Jan. 11, 2006, at the age of 56.
Tickets for the concert range from $50-$35 and will go on sale July 10 through the Fitzgerald’s box office at 651-290-1221. Proceeds will benefit the Bob Feldman Redwood Forest Fund.

Please let me know how and when I can buy a copy of the concert recording.
